After slaughtering their parents, Joseph McEnroe apologized to his girlfriend’s young niece and nephew before shooting both in the head to end a Christmas Eve massacre, prosecutors alleged Friday.

But even as they filed aggravated first-degree murder charges against McEnroe and Michele Anderson, prosecutors could not say what might have driven the couple in the violent killing spree.

“In the end, what motive could you find that would make sense of the senseless slaying of the Anderson family?” King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said in announcing the charges

Ironman wal-mart?

Woman Stays At Gwinnett Wal-Mart For Three Days

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Wal-Mart shopper overstayed her welcome at the 24-hour store in Lilburn. Gwinnett County police escorted the shopper home after she stayed there for three days eating and sleeping inside the store.

Between the traffic, the congestion and the crowds — spending more than 5 minutes at a Wal-Mart at this point in the game, makes up most Christmas shoppers’ nightmares.

“It’s my first time here but it’s pretty crowded. There’s a lot of people in there,” said one shopper.

At the 24-hour Wal-Mart in Lilburn, police said a 70-year-old woman spent three days inside the store sleeping, shopping and eating at the on-site Blimpie.

“Three days in any store is a little crazy, but in a Wal-Mart…yeah,” said a shopper.

Despite what most people think about such and experience, it is likely that because of all the shoppers, the woman was able to blend in with the carts, crowds and chaos and go unnoticed for 72 hours a week before Christmas. When asked by Wal-Mart employees why she was there for so long she simply said, ‘I’m shopping.’

The woman was escorted home by police after she paid for her merchandise.

“I Am Legend” delivers

(in Movies on 2007/12/19)

“I Am Legend” was overall a pretty good movie. The genre is right up my alley, but I could have done without the over-the-top darkseekers having exaggerated speed and strength. It also would have been nice to see the protagonist at the top of his game, before his decline due to the state of the world and his isolation.

It seems that the film adapattion simplified one of the key plot/moral points in the book, where there are actually two classes of people left instead of just immune people like the hero and balls-to-the-wall runing-up-walls baddies.

The family behind is at the theater would disagree. After guffawing over the trailer for “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins” (Martin Lawrence, Mo’Nique), they repeatedly disparaged the feature as being stupid.

Ron Paul, on Huckabee and Religion:

It reminds me of what Sinclair Lewis once said. He says, ‘when fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross’.

It wouldn’t be a lemon party without ol’ Dick

Marjorie deleted before I could re-watch the scene, but I think it was unacknowledged in the show. Brilliant!
