Shaving Innovations

(in General on 2005/12/24)

Call me a sucker but I bought some tempered mach3 blades from an online website (the markup isn’t that much anyway). Tempered blades allegedly last longer due to taking less wear from being used over and over.

With every purchase, they include tiny root-beer bottle candy looking samples of their shaving cream substitute, “The total shaving solution”. It’s some kind of alcohol/oil and it’s fucking ridiculous.

http://www.allaboutshaving.com/products_showproductdetail.asp?pid=8

I just used the sample and it was probably the best shave I’ve ever had… but it does leave you with this kind of icy-hot sensation on your face.

(This post started out as an email to Brent, who for some reason I associate with shaving-fu)

Got my vote!

The wrath of David Letterman

(in General on 2005/12/21)

http://www.freenewmexican.com/news/36651.html

Late last week, a Santa Fe District Court judge signed a temporary restraining order against talk-show host David Letterman alleging he has tormented a city resident for more than 10 years by using code words on his television program .

Nestler’s application was accompanied by a typed, six-page , double-spaced letter in which she said Letterman used code words, gestures and “eye expressions” to convey his desire to marry her and train her as his co-host . Her story also involves Regis Philbin, Kathie Lee Gifford and Kelsey Grammer, whom Nestler says either supported or attempted to thwart her “relationship” with Letterman, according to the letter.

Remember Frank White, again.

(in General on 2005/12/20)

I’ve heard yet another rumor that Foot Locker (perhaps in Canada?) sells the Remember Frank White shirt w/ a silhouette of Biggie (covered here).

Foot Locker responded via Email that they do not sell the shirt :/

Anyone have a canadian friend who owes them a favor :(

The ubiquitous “Bill W”

(in General on 2005/12/19)

You often see advertisements for an organizations, forums, etc called “Friends of Bill W”. In the past I had casually wondered wtf they were.

“Bill W” refers to Bill Wilson, a cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous — this is how they discreetly advertise events, preserving the anonymous bit.
